Job Title: Senior to Principal Flood Risk Consultant
Salary: Up to £60,000 - 75,000 + equity (dependent on experience)
Location: Candidate ideally located in London (flexible UK-wide, hybrid working)
Type: Permanent, hybrid

This opportunity blends technical consultancy with technology innovation. You'll work closely with the founders to review and approve FRAs, support clients, and contribute directly to the development of an AI-driven platform set to transform flood risk assessment in the UK.

Our client is an AI startup founded by flood risk engineers and researchers. Their mission is to modernise flood risk assessment by:

• Providing local authorities with smarter tools for planning submissions.
• Delivering site-specific FRAs using advanced AI capabilities.

Their goal: streamline the planning system, enable sustainable development, and protect communities across the UK.

• Review and approve Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs).
• Operate and help refine the client's AI platform.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulators.
• Contribute to the development of new product features and services.

• Chartered status with CIWEM, CEng (MICE), or equivalent.
• 8+ years in flood risk assessment, drainage strategy, and SuDS design in England.
• Knowledge of hydraulic modelling tools (e.g. Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage).
• Interest in the use of AI in planning and engineering.
• Strong communicator with proven client and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
