Network Design Engineer Must have an Active DV Clearance An opportunity has arisen for a Network Design Engineer to join a secure Defence and National Security programme, delivering medium and large scale network solutions across mission critical environments. This role is suited to a capable network professional who can design, implement, and support secure enterprise networks while working collaboratively across multi skilled teams. About the Role - Network Design Engineer As a Network Design Engineer , you will design, configure, and deploy network solutions that meet business and technical requirements across secure environments. You will produce design documentation, support governance reviews, and provide hands on implementation and troubleshooting support. The role involves supporting project milestones, ensuring effective handover to service, and resolving complex network issues across multiple vendors and domains. You will work with stakeholders, assist with performance testing, and contribute to automation and continuous improvement. What We're Looking For - Network Design Engineer Strong experience with Cisco and Juniper technologies, with certifications such as CCNA , CCNP , or JNCIS-ENT . Knowledge of routing protocols , VRFs, VPNs, IDS, IPS, and network security controls. Experience with F5 , Cisco Secure Firewall , and Gigamon . Strong design and troubleshooting background across enterprise and multi vendor networks. Understanding of TCP/IP , IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, and data centre networking. Experience using tools such as Visio , SolarWinds, and Nagios. Strong communication skills, with the ability to document solutions and collaborate with stakeholders. Network IT is currently hiring for a DV Cleared Network Engineer to join our client in the North West on a 3 to 6 month initial contract, supporting the delivery of a secure network project, with Cisco based network infrastructure. This role will be incredibly hands-on, so we will need your expertise and understanding of network security and compliance in high-assurance environments. You will be responsible for deploying and configuring mostly Cisco-based network infrastructure, including but not limited to Catalyst, DNA Center, ISE, Firewalls and Meraki. Role: DV Cleared Network Engineer Duration: 3-6 Months Status: Outside IR35 Rate: 450 per day Location: North West (Lancashire) Working Pattern: 4 days per week onsite / 1 day remote Key Skills: - Deploy and configure Cisco-based infrastructure: Catalyst, DNA Center, ISE, Firewalls - Lead testing, validation, and secure commissioning - Implement 802.1X, segmentation, and NAC policies - Align technical delivery with cybersecurity frameworks - CCNP certified, with design/build/test experience - Must have an active DV Clearance (due to timescales clearance must be active, and transferable)
