Teams within plant performance undertake a wide range of thermal hydraulic analyses ranging from detailed predictions of heat transfer in individual components using 3D computational fluid dynamics so that their operational life can be accurately assessed, to 1D systems code models of an entire plant to predict overall performance and ensure its safe operation. This gives rise to a wide range of exciting and interesting workstreams involving fluid dynamics and heat transfer with important real world applications.
