The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join a fast-growing, purpose-led FMCG business based near Shirebrook, Mansfield. Offering a salary of up to £35,000 plus bonus, this hybrid role (4 days office, 1 day home) provides the chance to work in a dynamic and values-driven environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day finance processes including accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Run accurate and timely monthly payroll.
• Support the month-end process with accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist with management reporting.
• Collaborate across departments to improve processes and drive operational efficiency.

What Experience is Required

• Experience across end-to-end finance processes, ideally within an SME or FMCG environment.
• Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Confident user of Excel with experience of Xero being an advantage.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: £32,000 to £35,000 depending on experience
• Annual discretionary bonus (up to 15%)
• 28 days holiday plus bank holidays

• Hybrid working (4 days office / 1 day home)

Location

Based near Mansfield, this role is easily commutable from Chesterfield, Worksop, Nottingham, Sutton-in-Ashfield, and Alfreton.
