Engineering Plant Operative (Mechanical)

Role Description

The Water Supply Function operates and maintains raw water sources and associated water treatment works across Northern Ireland. The Function is responsible for producing treated water to agreed standards for distribution to customers. The purpose of the job is to operate and maintain Drumaroad & Fofanny Water Treatment Works together with related raw water resources.

Candidates MUST be able to demonstrate in their application and where necessary at interview that they meet the following, essential criteria:

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

1. A relevant National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) level 3 AND be a time served Mechanical craftsman;

OR

Completion of a recognised Mechanical apprenticeship AND have significant relevant industrial maintenance;

2. Hold a full current valid driving licence which will enable you to fulfil your responsibilities.

3. Potential employees must have a permanent residence within 30 miles travelling distance by public road to the geographical location Specific to Annsborough Waste Water Treatment Works, Station Rd, Castlewellan, BT31 9GD measured by RAC Route Planner from full postcode to full postcode via the 'shortest route' selection on the website. This is to enable NI Water to meet its key customer service requirements and deliver effective services to customers, particularly in respect of the need to respond promptly to out of hours emergencies.

What is on Offer

Salary

Grade: EPO

Base salary: £31,269.97 per annum

This payment is made up of a consolidated value of £25,911.48 and a non-consolidated value of 5,358.48 per annum.

Overtime rates are based on the consolidated value only.

The starting salary will normally be at the first point of the scale. Salaries are reviewed annually effective 1st April.
