Maintenance Technician (Pumping)

Location: We have an opportunity for Maintenance Technicians to join our Pumping department at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you? The role will cover North Yorkshire region, so ideally looking for applicants living in the Harrogate, Colburn, Thirsk, Ripon and Northallerton area.
Work type: The roles are permanent, and flexibility is crucial, youll be working 37 hours per week. Once fully trained and assessed for independent working, you will be expected to participate in an out of hours standby rota which will include evenings, weekends, and overnight callouts. This is done in a planned & scheduled way so you will have visibility of exactly when you will be on call (it currently sits at 1 week in every 8). In addition to standby, you will be expected to work some weekends, it currently sits at one weekend in every 8 weeks.

The role of a Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability and safety of wastewater pumping and treatment assets. They help to keep pumping stations and/or sewage treatment works running smoothly by doing basic mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting problems, and carrying out repairs.
