We are recruiting on behalf of our client in the Solihull area for a Property Solicitor. This is to work on a wide variety of legal work concentrating mainly on land and property matters;
Role Responsibilities
- To conduct all aspects of legal work relating to land and property, development and landlord and tenant issues.
- As and when required to attend Council, Cabinet, Committees or meetings and to handle legal and advisory work connected with this.
- To advise client departments on land and property and highways matters.
- Recording time worked to charge out to clients.
- To maintain a caseload in compliance with requirements.
- Instructing Counsel to act or appear on behalf of the Council in circumstances where the best interests of the Council so requires.
- Providing support to the Team Leader Property and Contracts.
Education & Qualifications
- Qualified Legal Executive or Solicitor.
- Current practising certificate.
Experience & Knowledge
- Detailed knowledge and working experience of commercial property law.
- Relevant Local Authority experience and knowledge and understanding of current developments affecting local government
- Experience of drafting complex legal documentation.
- Undertaking legal research
- Experience of using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook (or equivalent)
- An understanding of the requirements of Lexcel
- Use of case management systems
- Knowledge of highway and planning matters
