Maintenance Technician - Part-Time - Manufacturing - Braintree - 19,500
We are working on behalf of a highly respected manufacturing company in Braintree that is currently seeking a Part-Time Maintenance Technician to join its site services team. This is a hands-on, varied role ideally suited to someone with general maintenance or strong DIY experience who is looking for a flexible part-time position in a clean, well-organised factory environment.
About the Role:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for a range of building and facilities maintenance tasks to support the ongoing operation of the site. You'll work closely with the Department Chargehand and Facilities Manager to complete day-to-day tasks, minor repairs, and scheduled checks across the premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- General plumbing work, including mains water systems and WC maintenance
- Basic carpentry and woodwork repairs
- Light building work - such as tiling, making good, and minor repairs
- Painting and decorating of internal areas
- Collect materials/equipment from local suppliers when needed
- Carry out compliance checks (e.g. fire extinguishers, fire call points, legionella testing, escape routes)
- Report any safety concerns to the Facilities Manager
- Hours: 24 hours per week across 3 days, flexible days/hours
Required Skills & Background:
- Experience in general building maintenance or proven DIY capability across multiple trades
- Practical knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and small building repairs
- Ability to work independently and prioritise a varied workload
- Full UK driving licence preferred (for occasional errands)
