Job Description

Techniche Global are supporting a mission-driven company leading innovation in zero-carbon industrial heat to appoint a CAD Design Engineer. Our Client is looking for someone to help integrate their thermal storage system onto customer sites. You will work within a small, mission-driven team of engineers to produce coordinated layout drawings using SolidWorks. This will mean working with experts in mechanical C electrical engineering, controls and civils to produce complete all the design outputs needed to ensure successful installation and commissioning.
Salary: up to £55k per annum
Location: Fareham, Hampshire
Duration: perm, full-time

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Layouts Develop site-specific layouts for existing or new infrastructure using SolidWorks.
  • Technical Drawing/Drafting Producing 2D CAD (and possibly 3D CAD) drawings in DWG format for steam and condensate routing, electrical power and control systems, civil works and other areas
  • Interfaces - Detailing interface requirements foundations, flanges, cables.
  • Documentation - Creating installation and interface documentation to support construction, commissioning and operation
  • Collaboration s Integration Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to develop practical solutions. Liaise with external sub- contractors or partners, as well as clients.
  • Continuous Improvement Iterating quickly in a dynamic, startup environment with an eye toward repeatable solutions

Essential Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in plant layout, industrial systems integration, or mechanical design for energy, HVAC or process industries
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks preferred, or strong skills in other CAD tools and willingness to switch to SolidWorks
  • Ability to read and produce P&IDs, control schematics and routing layouts
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to own a drawing package from concept to 'construction-issue'.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative working skills.

Optional:
  • Knowledge of industrial heating or thermal storage technologies.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Experience in costing of industrial-scale projects.
  • Experience writing FEED studies.
