Notably the longest established and largest independent Galvanizer in the UK is looking for both full and part-time General Operatives to join its Galvanizing plant in Halesfield, Telford. For over 160 years the business has been at the forefront of the UK Galvanizing industry and is renowned for its quality of work. You will work as part of an active galvanizing team and take responsibility for the process of galvanizing products. As a General Operative, your responsibilities will include: Ensuring quality standards of finished products. Hand wiring products to Jigs for galvanizing. Inspecting products prior to process to ensure quality and safety. Operating overhead crane equipment. Ensuring ash is swept from kettle on a continual basis, storing ash in barrels for later use. Handling of steel products. Assisting in general plant clean up and housekeeping. We are looking for a General Operative who has the following skills and experiences: Experience working as a Galvanizer would be a distinct advantage, but not essential as full training can be offered to the correct candidate showing the right aptitude. The position will be rewarded with a permanent contract, excellent rates of pay, attendance allowance, 28 days paid holidays per year and the opportunity to join the company pension scheme (full-time)Salary: £9.84 per hour starting salary, with the ability to increase your hourly rate further once you are enrolled and fully trained on the Company Training Path.PLUS, weekly shift allowance (terms and conditions apply).PLUS, regular weekend overtimeYou will be working full-time 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday on a weekly rotational shift pattern of days, afternoons, and nights.
