An independent, design-conscious and commercially driven town planning consultancy is seeking a talented Town Planner to join their growing team in London. With a well-established project portfolio across Greater London and the South East, this is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional looking to work on varied, commercially significant schemes in a collaborative, hands-on consultancy environment.

About the Role

As a key member of a close-knit, expert team, you will:

  • Manage and prepare planning applications, appeals, and pre-application submissions across a wide range of sectors

  • Undertake planning appraisals, audits, and feasibility studies for potential development sites

  • Provide strategic planning advice to developers, landowners, occupiers and investors

  • Liaise with local authorities, design teams, and external consultants to guide schemes through the planning process

  • Work across a wide variety of projects including residential, mixed-use, commercial, retail, roadside, and energy developments

  • Contribute to land promotion strategies, policy representations, and stakeholder consultations

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline, ideally with RTPI accreditation (or working towards Chartered status)

  • Experience working in consultancy, local authority, or developer-side planning

  • Strong report writing, analytical, and communication skills

  • A good understanding of London planning policy and development challenges

  • The ability to manage your own workload and work proactively on multiple projects

  • A commercial mindset and interest in client-focused, outcome-driven work
