Consultant - Forensic Psychiatrist - Edenfield This post is permanent or for a secondment opportunity. The Adult Forensic Service at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust has an existing opportunity for two Consultant Forensic Psychiatrists to be a crucial part in helping drive improvements to our patients' experiences and to contribute to the development of our new model of care. These substantive posts are within our male medium secure and women's blended services at The Edenfield Centre. While our new model of care is under development, and definitive medical job planning is under review, it is anticipated that the post holders will be the Responsible Clinician for 12 - 16 male inpatients or 10 - 12 female inpatients, following their caseload from admission to discharge. Dr Andrew Haddock - Clinical Lead Dr Alex Till - Interim Clinical Lead Main Duties of the Job This is an exciting time to join us as a Consultant (Forensic) Psychiatrist. This opportunity could be for a full-time post within either our women's blended secure service (WBS) or our male medium secure service. Either role would allow a successful candidate to contribute to the development of our new model of care and to shape the future of secure services for women and men from Greater Manchester. You will be supported by a full and expanding complement of multidisciplinary colleagues, including a medical secretary, junior doctor(s), clinical psychologist, social worker, occupational therapist, and nursing colleagues. To support our service users' physical health, there is additionally a visiting GP, dentist, and well-established physical health team. Alongside inpatient management, additional clinical activities include on-call work, access assessments to the service, and a range of additional activities dependent on negotiation with consultant colleagues and our new model of care. Person Specification Qualifications Full GMC registration and license to practice AC/Section 12 approved at the time of commencing the post or within three months of doing so Entry on the Specialist Register of the GMC or within 6 months of obtaining CCT Experience Experience in multi-disciplinary team working Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. Salary: £105,504 to £139,882 a year per annum pro rata.
