What will you do in this role?

The Lead AI Solutions Engineer has overall responsibility for developing and implementing artificial intelligence solutions to solve complex problems and enhance business operations. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally; operating between the business stakeholders, technology teams, and data scientists, to ensure that final solutions meet requirements.

The Lead AI Solutions Engineer is an expert in large language models, Gen AI application implementation and machine learning, and has a passion for creating intelligent systems that automate processes, improve efficiency, and drive business innovation.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Design and lead end-to-end AI solution architectures, from data ingestion and model development to deployment and integration with front-end applications.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists to translate research prototypes and models (especially LLM-based) into scalable, production-ready systems.
• Work with application and front-end teams to integrate AI capabilities into user-facing products, ensuring seamless user experiences.
• Own the technical roadmap for AI solution delivery, balancing innovation with maintainability, scalability, and performance.
• Develop and maintain reusable components, APIs, and services that enable rapid deployment of AI features across products.

• Champion best practices in MLOps and software engineering, including CI/CD, testing, observability, and versioning for AI systems.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and cross-functional team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.

• Stay current with advancements in AI/ML and LLM technologies and proactively identify opportunities to apply them to business challenges.

About You:

What you need to have:

• Proven experience delivering AI/ML solutions in production, with a strong focus on large language models (LLMs) and generative AI.
• Hands-on expertise with Azure Databricks, including data engineering, model development, and orchestration of ML workflows.
• Practical experience using LLMs and RAG, including prompt design, vector databases, model deployment, and integration into applications.
• Strong Python development skills, with experience building scalable, maintainable AI services and APIs.
• Experience integrating AI models into real-world applications, working closely with front-end or product engineering teams.
• A passion for driving best practices, including code standards, model lifecycle management, CI/CD, and monitoring in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with the Azure ecosystem, such as Azure Machine Learning, Azure DevOps, and related cloud-native tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across data science, engineering, and business teams.

What we prefer you to have:

• Leadership experience, including mentoring engineers and driving architectural decisions in cross-functional settings.
• Financial services experience, with an understanding of domain-specific challenges such as compliance, risk and data sensitivity.
• Model evaluation experience, including techniques for measuring accuracy, drift, bias and hallucinations in production.
• Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies, including working in cross-functional squads or product-aligned teams.
