As our new Networks and Cyber Manager, you'll be at the heart of this transformation helping to drive innovation, leading a talented team, and ensuring our infrastructure is resilient, secure, and future-ready.
What you'll be doing:Leading the design and delivery of secure network and infrastructure solutions across the council.
Managing cybersecurity protocols, incident response plans, and regular security audits.
Overseeing a team of three Network and Cybersecurity Engineers - mentoring, supporting, and developing their skills.
Shaping and enforcing security policies, from firewalls and endpoint protection to disaster recovery.
Collaborating with IT support and business teams to simplify complex tech and deliver real-world impact.
Staying ahead of emerging threats and technologies to keep our systems one step ahead.
What you'll bring:A strong background in network and infrastructure management, with hands-on experience in VMWare, switching, firewalls, and virtualised environments.
Cybersecurity credentials (e.g. CISSP) and a deep understanding of modern security practices.
Proven leadership and project management skills, with the ability to juggle priorities and inspire your team.
A strategic mindset with the ability to translate technical complexity into clear, actionable plans.
A passion for service delivery, innovation, and continuous improvement.
