The project is in the Treasury Domain, supported by the IT team. The platform operates 24/7, supporting teams in Sydney. It undergoes constant change to provide services to various business stakeholders. Our team comprises engineers and technology leaders with diverse skills to enable transformation. We work closely with business and operations colleagues to support these critical services for the Australian and Global economy. The team is responsible for driving Engineering Governance, Continuous Delivery, and technological simplification pillars such as Cloud and payments-based architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automation for production support activities, including alert triage and resolution flows.
  • Reduce testing cycle time from seven to three weeks through automation strategies.
  • Explore and implement deployment automation; streamline QRM-related alerts.
  • Build intuitive UIs for visualizing product and support status, if needed.
  • Partner with team members to reverse-engineer domain knowledge into reusable automation components.
  • Identify manual repetitive tasks and apply DevOps practices to eliminate them.

Skills

Must have

  • Ab Initio Expertise: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Ab Initio, including:
  • Control Center
  • Plans and scheduling
  • Graph development and execution
  • Scripting Skills: 2-10 years of experience in Python or PowerShell.
  • Automation Mindset: Passion for continuous improvement and automation of repetitive or failure-prone processes.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with proactive root cause analysis and robust fixes.
  • Communication: Ability to document and communicate automation strategies clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

Support Experience: Exposure to production support environments, understanding failure patterns and recovery strategies.

DevOps Familiarity: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code.

Monitoring & Alerting Tools: Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.

Version Control & Collaboration: Familiarity with Git, GitHub/GitLab, agile practices.

Team Fit: Collaborative mindset, willingness to mentor and learn.

Cloud & Containerisation: AWS (automation and orchestration), Kubernetes, Docker.
