Energy Assessor (Remote)

Salary: 32,000 - 38,000 per annum, depending on experience

Our client, a sustainability-focused consultancy is seeking a skilled Energy Assessor to join its growing remote team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact residential and commercial projects across the UK, delivering compliance and performance-driven energy assessments that support the transition to a low-carbon built environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out energy assessments for new and existing developments using SAP (OCDEA) and SBEM methodologies.
- Undertake overheating risk assessments in line with Approved Document O, CIBSE TM59, and related frameworks.
- Provide technical energy compliance advice to clients, architects, and project teams throughout design stages.
- Deliver accurate Part L compliance reports and planning submission support.
- Work closely with the sustainability team to align energy performance with broader environmental goals.
- Keep abreast of evolving energy standards and regulatory changes impacting the UK built environment.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Accredited and active OCDEA qualification with experience using SAP software.
- Proficiency in SBEM assessments and compliance for non-domestic buildings.
- Solid understanding of overheating risk analysis, including mitigation strategy development.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK Building Regulations, especially Part L and Part O.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, self-managed setting.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- NDEA (Non-Domestic Energy Assessor) qualification.
- Familiarity with dynamic simulation modelling tools such as IES-VE or DesignBuilder.
- Experience contributing to sustainability frameworks (e.g. BREEAM or HQM).
- Understanding of net zero strategies and low-energy building design.
