CK Group are recruiting for a Senior Buyer, Laboratory, to join a growing and exciting research facility in Oxford, on a permanent basis. This role will be hybrid, requiring you to be on-site for three days a week. This exciting new campus will feature state of art R&D facility, specialised laboratories, oncology clinics and focus on bridging scientific discovery with real-world applications by integrating expertise from various fields, including biomedical science, engineering, and public health. The Role: Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially savvy Senior Buyer, Healthcare & Laboratory, to source, negotiate, purchase and manage the supply of essential materials and equipment for the facilities department, including both laboratory research and clinical operations. Responsibilities: Managing the procurement of healthcare and laboratory products and services. Working closely with Legal Services to ensure timely contract reviews. Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure optimal terms and pricing. Evaluating supplier performance and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Developing and implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality. Manage the documentation required for procurement, including purchase orders, invoices, contracts, and shipping records. Your Background: A relevant BSc. Minimum CIPS Level 4. Experience of working with laboratory reagents, consumables, equipment, and clinical trial supplies is highly preferred. Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and regulatory requirements related to procurement in scientific settings. Experience with procurement software, ERP systems, and inventory management tools is desirable. Salary: Competitive with an excellent benefits package. Are you looking for a part time role? Do you have demonstrable experience in a purchasing/procurement team? Are you a confident user of SAP/MRP systems? Our client, a leading supplier of laboratory equipment and solutions, are looking for a Buyer to join their small procurement team on an on-going, part-time basis.Working closely with a senior team member you will support the business by being able to advise on and execute their purchasing needs. Departmental duties include: Maintaining purchasing data within SAP ERP. Managing the purchasing system and processing orders. Negotiating, sourcing and obtaining materials, equipment and services. Managing supplier contracts. Managing sourcing projects and ensuring they are driven to completion. The successful candidate will have significant experience of using SAP, ideally within a scientific/medical environment, however this is not essential. You will be able to demonstrate a methodical approach to work and be able to adapt to the ever changing business needs. A CIPS qualification would be desirable but us not essential This is an office based position Monday to Friday, 20 hour per week, ideally 9am-1pm but there is a degree of flexibility. Whilst this is initially a temporary contract there is the possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate.
