The post-holder will be encouraged to develop new services including interventional procedures pertaining to their area of interest. Office space with workstations and secretarial support will be provided. Workstations for reporting from home are also provided. Within the department, there are subspecialty staff meetings. All consultants participate in relevant MDT meetings as part of their timetabled activity. The successful candidate will be contractually accountable to Northampton General Hospital Trust for the provision of services. The appointee will be managerially responsible to the Chief Executive through the Medical Director and Clinical Director. The appointee will be expected to participate in managerial and administrative work and should be aware of the broader context within the NHS in which consultants operate. Person Specification GMC registered (with licence to practice) CCT Radiology/CESR Other Degrees or Professional Qualification (MD, MRCS, MRCP) Clinical Skills Evidence of General radiology Experience/Expertise Evidence of subspecialty radiology experience/expertise Postgraduate experience and familiarity with the UK NHS hospital system Experience of CT/US guided biopsy or interventional skills. Evidence of MDT experience Management Skills Able to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, their families, and other health professionals. Able to develop, present, and implement coherent ideas for service development/delivery. Able to work within a team. Completed an appropriate management course. Teaching, Audit & Research Evidence of participation in Clinical audit Able to teach and support junior staff effectively. Interpersonal Skills Good written and verbal skills in English. Willingness to show flexibility in responding to the needs of the department.
