Help shape the backbone of our services - and build smarter systems for a stronger borough.
Help shape the backbone of our services - and build smarter systems for a stronger borough.
Our Oracle Cloud platform is a vital part of how we work - supporting everything from HR and Finance to Procurement. As our Oracle Systems Administrator, you'll be the one who keeps it running smoothly, solving problems before they surface and helping us get the most out of every function.
This is more than just support - it's about driving improvements, influencing strategy and making sure our technology delivers for the people who need it most: our residents.
Working Style:
You'll be based in the Borough for 3 days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you're working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you'll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents' lives.
What you'll be doing:
You'll join our Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) team and take the lead on technical administration of our Oracle Cloud system. That means making sure things work - and work well - across Human Resources, Procurement and Finance modules.
You'll be the point of contact for system health and performance, tackling issues with integrations, interfaces and data flows. You'll have a hand in middleware tools like Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and SFTP, and you'll ensure critical processes keep running with minimal disruption.
But this role is also about the bigger picture. You'll collaborate with colleagues across HR, Finance and Procurement to understand their needs, translate requirements into smart solutions, and recommend improvements that help us get the best from our Oracle investment and ensuring Oracle Modern Best Practices are adopted. You'll stay connected to your professional networks and bring new ideas to the table - contributing to our ongoing Oracle roadmap and improvement plans.
You'll be joining a newly formed team, supporting a newly implemented system, in a fast-changing environment - which means plenty of opportunity to shape how we work.
For further details, please review the Job Description and Person Specification.
What you'll bring
You're an experienced systems administrator with hands-on knowledge of Oracle Cloud. You understand the technical side of things inside-out - from SQL queries and interfaces to configuration, maintenance and middleware - and you're confident handling complex, high-pressure issues calmly and effectively.
You bring subject matter expertise in at least one of the key Oracle functional areas- HCM, ERP or OIC - but will provide cross functional support. You know how these functions support the work of wider teams. You're used to working with service leads, external vendors and technical teams, and you can explain system behaviour in ways everyone understands.
You're proactive, solutions-focused, and always looking for better ways of doing things. You're comfortable with ambiguity and change, and you're excited by the opportunity to help shape how our systems and team evolve.
Why join us
At RBKC, we're all in - investing in our people, our communities and our future.
You'll be joining a brand-new team right at the start of its journey - giving you the space to contribute, lead, and influence. This is a rare opportunity to help define our approach to Oracle Cloud and make your mark on the systems that support thousands of users and help deliver vital services to our residents.
You'll be working alongside experts in data, architecture and cyber security, with lots of scope for learning, collaboration and career development. It's a role where technical skill meets real-world impact - and your work will be key to improving the way our Council operates.
