Our client, an established and privately owned civil engineering contractor based in Coventry, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their business. This multi-accredited contractor specialises in delivering tailored civil engineering solutions across the water and utilities industries for local authorities and high-profile Tier 1 contractors appointed on the Severn Trent Water framework. This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Coventry office.
Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantitiesAnalysing and managing commercial risksInterpreting client requirements and supporting feasibility studiesReviewing tender documents and assessing costsAllocating work to subcontractors and coordinating with site teamsPreparing interim valuations and managing cost reportingMonitoring budgets and arranging subcontractor paymentsNegotiating final accounts and conducting site visitsEnsuring contract compliance and maintaining accurate documentation.
What you'll need to succeed In order to be successful, you must have:Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar field) or experience equivalentExperience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Civil Engineering industry, ideally within the water and/or utilities sectorsProficiency in budgeting, forecasting and cost controlStrong working knowledge of NEC contractsSound organisational and interpersonal skillsFull UK driving licence.
