Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Transfer Team Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations of our ISA and pension transfers team. The successful candidate will manage a team of four agents and an outsourced team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all transfer requests, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering excellent customer service.

What you can expect to be doing:

  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, support, and develop a small team of transfer operations agents
    • Set clear performance objectives and conduct regular reviews.
    • Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to drive continuous improvement.
  • Transfer Operations:
    • Oversee the end-to-end processing of ISA transfers, both in and out.
    • Ensure transfers are completed accurately and within SLA and regulatory timelines.
    • Resolve complex or escalated transfer issues and liaise with third-party providers.
  • Compliance and Risk:
    • Maintain adherence to HMRC rules and regulations and internal risk and compliance frameworks.
    • Ensure proper record-keeping and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
    • Collaborate with technology and operations teams to enhance automation and reduce manual interventions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Act as a point of contact for internal teams, external partners, and sometimes customers on transfer-related matters.
    • Prepare and present regular reporting on team performance, volumes, and issues.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience in ISA and pension transfer operations (e.g., cash and in-specie transfers, re-registrations).
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role, ideally within a financial services firm.
  • Strong knowledge of UK pensions and ISA regulations (e.g., HMRC, FCA requirements).
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with transfer platforms, electronic messaging systems (e.g., Origo, BACS), and CRM/recordkeeping systems.
  • Experience working in a fintech or fast-paced financial services environment.
  • Experience in customer service

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Start your weekend early!)
