Job Description

Are you an experienced legal professional looking for a part-time role with a prestigious local authority? One of my local government clients are currently seeking a Legal Officer to support our prosecutions under the Single Justice Procedure.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing case files and liaising with business support to ensure timely action

  • Drafting legal documents, letters, reports, and articles

  • Instructing counsel, experts, and suppliers, including raising and receipting purchase orders

  • Preparing and submitting electronic court bundles, including uploading to digital courtrooms

  • Assisting with billing, administration, and diary management

  • Attending court hearings and clerking as needed

  • Supporting onboarding and training of new team members

  • Aiding in LEXCEL accreditation preparation

  • Recording time/matter information accurately using our case management system

What We re Looking For:

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills

  • Experience working within a legal environment, ideally within a public sector legal team

  • Confidence working independently and collaboratively

  • A proactive attitude and high attention to detail

  • Willingness to attend court and support high-level legal proceedings

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

This is a hybrid role 1 to 2 Days per week in the office
