OVERALL JOB ROLE

• To deliver and ensure a high standard of learning, development and care for babies (3 months to 1 year olds)
• To manage the day to day running of your room and the Baby room.
• To ensure that your room is a safe environment for children, staff and others
• To develop partnerships with parents/guardians to increase involvement in their child's development
• To manage your team and work closely with other rooms.

DUTIES

• To ensure responsibility for the effective daily running of your room
• To have a sound knowledge of company policies, procedures and expectations
• To act as an excellent role model to the staff team being able to showcase high quality practice in all areas
• To take responsibility for excellent hygiene, health and safety and security practice within the nursery
• To work co-cooperatively with the managers, deputy and other room leaders
• To support and lead your room team in planning and providing appropriate daily activities in line with guidance from the EYFS
• To uphold the highest level of safeguarding practice and ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
• To manage and supervise observation, assessment and planning in your room, ensuring all children are making progress.
• To work with outside professionals where required
• To work closely with parents and create trusting relationships with all families

QUALIFICATIONS (ESSENTIAL)

• Minimum level 3 in early years or equivalent
• Experience in working with toddlers
• Knowledge of the Early Years Sector
• Good standard of English and Maths

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS (ESSENTIAL)

• 2 years or more experience of working in a nursery
• Experience of being a key person
• Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted framework

• Excellent verbal communication skills with staff, children and parents
• Able to use written English to write reports and keep clear and accurate records
• Basic administrative and IT skills
