Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a multiple Project Managers/Project Control Managers on a permanent basis in Glasgow. (Hybrid working will be supported). We are looking for a Senior Project Manager or Project Controls Manager, supporting our clients to deliver a range of construction infrastructure projects and programmes across the North of the UK spanning from the Midlands, Cumbria, North East to Scotland with additional opportunities to work on projects across the rest of the UK. The team is based in Glasgow; however, we have team members based all over the North of the UK such as Nottingham, Leeds, Barrow, and Manchester. Owing to the complex nature of the projects we are involved in, this role will suit Project Managers from a Defence, Nuclear, Infrastructure or Construction background with proven experience, understanding and adherence to process and governance. NEC accreditation and proficiency in managing these types of contracts would be advantageous. This will be a consultancy-based role, working in a client-focused environment - where we are measured on working closely with clients, while taking personal responsibility in dealing with clients and striving to go above their expectations. We anticipate you being on client sites or based in our offices 60% of your time which could include travel, but this may flex depending on client and business requirements. See "working in teams / site attendance" for more information. MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE: To lead Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery. Work with clients, while managing the existing key accounts and developing new and existing relationships. To provide support on major Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for an aspect of service delivery. Managing and controlling the commercial aspects of projects and programmes; experienced to be able to lead monthly budgeting/forecasting and managing project budgets. Managing the schedule and wider elements of complex projects and programmes To ensure that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards. Supporting clients as they transition to Net Zero and deal with wider changes to make themselves more sustainable. Building long-term trusted advisor relationships with our clients. Qualifications Requirements Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject with relatable experience A relevant professional qualification with the APM, PMI or Prince 2 Demonstratable experience managing / administering NEC contracts (or another form such as JCT) and their practical application. Project management experience across a range of disciplines and within industry sectors. Able to construct and maintain project plans and familiar with project planning software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project. Desirable Previous experience of working with UK Government and Tier 1 organisations would be beneficial, particularly Defence. NEC PMA accreditation and proficiency in managing these types of contracts would be advantageous and use of contract management software eg CEMAR. Experience in the construction and infrastructure sectors in regulated environments and their stages (ie RIBA) Experience of project management and/or programme management, adding value at the initial strategic planning phase all the way into implementation, construction and delivery in the context of infrastructure projects and programmes.
