The College of Policing, as the professional body of the service, has a critical role to play in enhancing leadership, ensuring high standards, and elevating performance, ensuring officers and staff are equipped with the skills they need.
This is a hugely important time for policing in England and Wales. The Government's safer streets mission is to halve knife crime and halve Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) within a decade. The Government has said it will also deliver the Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee and put 13,000 additional police officers, PCSOs and special constables into neighbourhood policing roles. These initiatives are embedded in the College's business plan.
To help deliver this agenda, in a fiscally challenging environment, we are seeking a high calibre fully qualified accountant who will help shape a compelling vision and direction for the College, providing challenge and support to the executive team.
We believe we should be an exemplar to the service, which is seeking to improve diversity in all its forms, and would like to reflect this in the new Non-Executive Director appointment.
