A valid UK full manual car driving licence - no more than 6 points
We are currently recruiting for a Highways Operative to join our Highways team working on the Norwich project of works. The role is based from our Tarmac Norwich site and will cover surrounding areas of Norfolk.
As the Highways Operative you will be instrumental in the successful delivery of kerbing, paving, drainage and patching works within the Norwich and Norfolk region by Tarmac along with our sub-contractors.
Support the delivery of our programme of Highways works
Work within a crew to undertake works orders in a planned fashion and to the highest quality
Have a keen eye for detail and report Safety Observations on our Tarmac reporting system
Carry out pre-start checks on each machine you are operating (including hired-in plant)
Work to your gangs targets and minimise costs to maximise profitability and offer any alternative methods of working
Ensure all plant is safely and securely stored in the designated areas at the end of your shift
Ensure all Health and Safety standards are being adhered too across all works alongside collaborating, promoting and developing Health, Safety and wellbeing innovations
You must be able to work overtime to cover out of hours emergency call out as directed
