In Data, we are responsible for delivering this data, news and analytics through innovative technology - quickly and accurately. We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, and we implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes.

Our Team:

Our Regulations team is responsible for acquiring and providing key regulatory data to our clients. We collect, analyse, process and publish the data which is the backbone of our iconic Bloomberg Terminal - the facts and figures which ultimately move the financial markets.
Reference data for regulatory reporting plays an ever-increasing role in our clients' workflows, and the Data team fulfills a meaningful function in supporting Bloomberg users with regulatory change. We analyze regulation, determine the reference data needs, and make this data available on the Terminal in order to support the regulatory reporting needs of our clients. We are the cornerstone of several of Bloomberg's regulatory solutions.

What's the role?

Regulations is looking for a highly motivated and driven Team Leader to cover data management, data quality and data processes. You will play a critical role in developing and leading a team of data professionals with diverse experience and expertise spanning across several functions and subject matter areas. You will guide your teams to think strategically, apply data management best practices to their data sets, and to deliver quality data that is ready to use and fit for purpose. You are also expected to drive and instill a dynamic culture, as well as proactively champion inclusive behavior by building a safe environment where differences are recognized, respected and able to thrive. In doing so, you'll build a close partnership with Engineering, Product, Enterprise and other departments.

Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of domain experts and data management professionals through processing time-sensitive, high-quality financial data, data analysis, and project managementPartner with other data and core business groups, such as Enterprise Product, Product, Sales, News and Engineering to help develop and improve fit-for-purpose data that powers our productsDesign and implement proactive data quality management supported by client-focused metrics and process observabilityDevelop data modeling and ETL skills within the team and collaborate with Engineering teams to develop a robust data product that can deliver value across multiple client-facing productsBuild processes and standards that enable delivery of data that meets or exceeds client SLAs and supports superior customer serviceDevelop the team's subject matter and data expertise, aligning to the current industry best practice and trends to be able to proactively spot gaps and opportunities for future innovationsCollaborate with global counterparts to evolve the workflow and operating procedures to ensure consistency in data quality across regions and product
You'll need to have:

3+ years of relevant leadership experience or strong relevant experience as an individual contributor Demonstrable experience in data management related role such as data quality, data modeling and/or data engineeringDemonstrable experience with data analysis using tools such as Python, SQL, and/or TableauUnderstanding of regulations and the impact on financial marketsAbility to spot market trends and act on them to enhance depth and breadth of coverageExperience working with large datasets to quantify trends impacting the industryAbility to demonstrate qualitative and quantitative evidence to drivemercial decisionsUse statistics and data visualization skills to report on results of ongoing operations and projects, as requiredStrategic vision to align team goals around providing outstanding service to the business and other internal/external clients, and the ability to implement a business and people strategy which delivers on that visionProven ability to establish strong credibility and build influential relationships with multiple internal and external partners
