Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Water Hygiene Technician to join our team. This role involves carrying out a range of water hygiene-related tasks in accordance with current health and safety legislation and industry best practices. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with ACOP L8, HSG274, and other relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Cold Water Storage Tank (CWST) erection and dismantling in compliance with relevant procedures and regulations.

  • Perform leak repairs on water systems as needed.

  • Carry out Thermostatic Mixing Valve (TMV) servicing, including checks, cleaning, and replacements.

  • Undertake disinfection tasks, such as chlorination of water systems, mains, and storage tanks.

  • Perform temperature monitoring of domestic water systems, ensuring compliance with legionella control standards.

  • Conduct water sampling for laboratory analysis and ensure all results are documented and escalated appropriately.

  • Complete accurate and timely reports, logs, and documentation using digital or manual systems.

  • Liaise with clients on-site in a professional manner and report any issues or non-compliance.

  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with internal procedures and industry regulations.

  • Adhere to company health & safety policies and maintain high standards of cleanliness and professionalism on-site.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a water hygiene role or similar environment (preferred).

  • Understanding of relevant legislation and guidance (e.g., ACOP L8, HSG274).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.

  • Full UK driving licence (required).

  • Willingness to travel and work flexibly to meet client needs.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Legionella awareness or L8 training certificate.

  • CSCS card or equivalent.

  • Plumbing qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or higher) beneficial but not essential.
