Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Alarms Engineer with strong hands-on knowledge of Ziton fire alarm systems and intruder alarm systems to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in the installation, maintenance, commissioning, and fault-finding of fire detection and intruder security systems across a range of commercial and residential sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, service, and maintain fire alarm systems, with a focus on Ziton equipment.

  • Install and maintain intruder alarm systems to NSI or SSAIB standards.

  • Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure system functionality.

  • Carry out commissioning and handover of systems to clients.

  • Complete relevant documentation including service reports, risk assessments, and compliance paperwork.

  • Provide technical support and advice to clients and team members.

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant safety and industry standards.

  • Participate in a call-out rota (if applicable).

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with Ziton fire alarm systems (essential).

  • Experience with various intruder alarm systems, e.g., Texecom, Honeywell, Pyronix, or similar.

  • Knowledge of BS5839 and PD6662 standards.

  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.

  • Valid ECS or CSCS card (preferred).

  • Full UK driving licence (essential).

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • FIA Unit 1, 4, or other relevant certifications.

  • Experience with additional systems (e.g., CCTV, access control) is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
