As User Experience Lead, you'll drive the end-to-end design strategy and execution across RECCo's digital portfolio. You'll lead design thinking from early discovery through to detailed delivery, building strong relationships across service, technology, and governance teams to ensure solutions are aligned with user needs, business goals, and regulatory expectations.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategic direction, mentoring, and practitioner-level User Experience (UX) skills. You'll also help embed a design culture across RECCo and its partners and champion accessibility, inclusion, and design excellence.
What you'll
- Shape and lead the UX vision, ensuring it aligns with RECCo's strategic objectives and user-centric principles.
- Detail the UX strategy and associated road map for all RECCo services, creating a congruent experience.
- Guide cross-functional teams through the UX lifecycle: discovery, research, ideation, prototyping, testing, and delivery.
- Create and maintain artefacts such as wireframes, user flows, journey maps, prototypes, and information architectures.
- Lead the evolution and adoption of a design system to ensure congruence, scalability, and brand alignment across platforms.
- Facilitate workshops and co-creation sessions with stakeholders to unpack complexity and build shared understanding.
- Partner with developers, analysts, product owners, and testers to ensure high-quality design implementation.
- Promote accessibility, usability, and inclusive design practices across digital services.
- Use research, data, and user feedback to continuously refine and improve user experiences.
- Mentor team members and build design maturity within the broader organisation
About you: What you'll bring
- Strong background leading UX across digital products or platforms, ideally within complex or regulated environments.
- Confident designing and delivering end-to-end user experiences, from discovery through to handover and iteration.
- Experienced in interaction design, prototyping, user research, accessibility, and inclusive design principles.
- Thrive in agile teams and know how to embed UX within iterative delivery cycles.
- Strong communicator, able to influence stakeholders, facilitate workshops, and advocate for users with clarity and conviction.
- Systems thinker who can balance strategic goals with user needs and business constraints.
- Enjoy mentoring and helping teams mature in their understanding and application of user-centred design.
Ideally, you'll also have
- Experience building or evolving design systems to drive consistency and collaboration across teams.
- Familiarity with user research techniques and using evidence to drive design decisions.
- A working knowledge of accessibility standards and how to apply them in practice.
- An interest in emerging design tools, methodologies, or technologies (e.g. AI-enhanced design workflows).
- Experience supporting continuous improvement and championing design excellence across organisations.
What you'll get in return
- A supportive, inclusive team environment
- Mentorship and development opportunities
- Flexibility through remote or hybrid working (your choice!)
- A meaningful role where you can grow while making an impact
