Required
- At least 10 years of proven experience in large construction / civil engineering projects.
- Ability to produce, implement, and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures.
- Ability and confidence to communicate and present to Top Level Management, senior clients, subcontractors, and the public.
- An understanding of the commercial issues involved in undertaking construction projects.
- Degree or equivalent in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures, including safety and environmental issues.
- Successful experience as a section / trade foreman.
- Knowledge and practical application of the setup and day-to-day running of a construction site.
Role Responsibilities
- Providing site-based leadership for all construction and installation operations.
- Promoting health & safety management, construction best practices, and resource management in liaison with the Project Manager.
- Leading and promoting high standards of HSEQ on your project, ensuring policies are in place and followed.
- Ensuring work quality meets standards such as ER's / British Standards and minimizing defects.
- Training and instructing all new employees on safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Maintaining and updating the Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan and other management plans.
- Monitoring site activities against project schedules and targets.
- Preparing and circulating progress reports and meeting minutes.
- Managing resources, including plant and labor, and controlling site procurement.
