About the role
Generating philanthropic and sponsorship income, Development helps us create a Natural History Museum for the future - investing in capital development, supporting acquisitions for the collection, transforming our galleries, developing innovative exhibitions and undertaking ground-breaking scientific research on issues that affect us all. This is an exciting time to join the NHM's Development team as we have recently launched our NHM150 fundraising campaign - set to raise £150m by 2031/32 which will rejuvenate the Museum spaces and help create advocates for the planet.
Reporting into the Director of Development in the Development Group, this role is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, management and reporting of NHM150, as well as lead a team of development professionals to deliver insightful prospect research, manage systems for donor journeys and lead on excellent donor stewardship for the Development team.
About you
This roles provides the opportunity to be strategic and contribute to a major fundraising campaign. You'll bring your experience in business planning to help us stay aligned with the Museum's wider strategy and operating plan. A team player, you will have strong analytical and financial acumen, ensuring that excellent income processing and reporting systems are in place. You will bring experience in fundraising databases, such as Raiser's Edge and Microsoft Dynamics, and excellent leaderships skills, leading multi-functional and high achieving teams to deliver excellent results.

We are working towards a vision where both people and planet thrive, and nothing gives a greater connection with this, than seeing first-hand, the visitors, scientific research and collections that all of our work is inspired by and working side by side with the teams delivering the visitor experience and events. We also recognise the benefits and flexibility that hybrid working brings. We operate a hybrid working model that requires regular, weekly attendance for this role, with the precise pattern of days on site and worked from home to be agreed with your manager.
