World-leading industrial gases and engineering company urgently require a Manager to oversee their busy Crawley depot and be responsible for managing and selling a range of welding equipment, cylinder gases, safety and related industrial products. You will be responsible for leading a team and your performance will be measured against sales targets and profitability so commitment to achievement is essential together with experience in a trade sales environment.
Key activities will include:
Developing business with our customer through.
- Providing a high level of service to existing customers.
- Achieve business development In line with product policy introduce new products and services in a timely fashion e.g. profitable servicing, repair & hire service from the centre, PPE, etc.
- Achieve sales targets for all product groups through the application of high product/process knowledge, effective selling skills and customer service levels.
- Utilise ICS systems to develop a local customer account database, maintaining sales revenues, identifying opportunities, and defending against competitive threats.
- Promotion of products within the local area by telephone contact.
- Maintenance of optimum stocks to satisfy customer demand
- Keeping accurate records
- Ensuring that cylinders and equipment comply with Company and statutory safety standards.
Lead, develop, performance manage, coach and motivate team members.
- Ensure team members understand specific accountabilities and are provided with feedback and support where required.
- Develop clarity amongst team of strategy, business targets and development plans.
Requirements:
Must have
- Previous sales experience within the hard goods sector / trade counter
- Preferably you will have understanding of Gases, Industrial, Safety and welding products and processes including safety.
- Previous management experience
- Robust selling skills
- Ability to deliver sales growth
- Ability to work on own initiative and to deadlines
- Full clean driving licence
Additional Requirements:
- The successful candidate will display a high degree of self-motivation, flexibility and commitment to high levels of customer service.
- Candidates should also be of reasonable fitness as a degree of physical activity is involved
- Experience and knowledge of selling industrial gases an advantage
