Plant and Equipment Fitter
Location: Based in Redditch (covering surrounding areas)
Salary: 36,000 - 38,000 DOE
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Plant and Equipment Fitter to join our operational team, based out of Redditch. You will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a range of plant, grounds maintenance, and arboricultural machinery across multiple high-profile contracts.
This role plays a key part in supporting operations in South Yorkshire, Birmingham, and on HS2 sites, including coordination with subcontractors and managing equipment movements between depots.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair faults on plant and equipment including tractors, mowers, chippers, and chainsaws.
- Conduct regular maintenance and servicing to ensure reliability and compliance with safety standards.
- Travel to operational sites (including South Yorkshire) to carry out mobile repairs and support subcontracted work.
- Prepare equipment for transport and deployment between depots.
- Keep accurate service logs and maintenance records.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with HSE guidelines and company policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance or fitting, ideally within plant, grounds maintenance, or arboriculture.
- Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to work independently.
- Comfortable working across multiple sites and engaging with various operational teams.
- Full UK driving licence is essential.
- Flexible, reliable, and safety-conscious approach to work.
