KS2 Teacher (Maternity Cover) St Albans
Salary: £33,000 £45,000 (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (Maternity Cover)
Start Date: September 2025 (earlier start possible for the right candidate)

They are currently seeking a dedicated KS2 Teacher to cover a maternity leave starting this September. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to join a collaborative team and make a meaningful impact during a pivotal stage in pupils academic journey.

The Role:

As the KS2 Maternity Cover Teacher, you will take full responsibility for a Key Stage 2 class, planning and delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons that inspire and challenge all learners. You will be expected to contribute to the wider school life, including assessment, pastoral care, and extracurricular activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum

  • Assess pupil progress regularly and use data to inform teaching

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

  • Foster strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

  • Contribute to the school s ethos and extracurricular offerings

  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning outcomes

What We re Looking For:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Proven experience teaching within Key Stage 2

  • Strong understanding of the KS2 national curriculum

  • Ability to differentiate effectively to support all learners

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
