Job Description

Quality Inspector - Aerospace Manufacturing (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)
Location: Onsite - Wolverhampton, UK
Employment Type: Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract (minimum)
Schedule: Monday-Thursday (7:30/8:00am - 4:15/5:00pm), Friday (7:30/8:00am - 11:30am/12:00pm). Occasional overtime and additional shifts may be required.

I'm recruiting on behalf of my client for a Quality Inspector to join their Quality Control team based in Wolverhampton. This is a key role within an advanced aerospace manufacturing environment, supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and ensuring that both in-house and supply chain components meet exacting quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Perform manual inspections using micrometers, height gauges, shadowgraphs, and vision systems
Carry out final inspections on assemblies and machined components
Support Machinist Inspectors and Operator Inspectors with technical guidance and training
Conduct AS9102 First Article Inspections on both part and assembly levels
Operate and verify CMM programs using Zeiss Calypso and PC-DMIS systems
Create and maintain First Article Reports using Q-Pulse
Assist with NPI process implementation and troubleshooting complex inspection issues
Write non-conformance reports and support root cause analysis and corrective actions
Collaborate with the Quality team to improve manufacturing and inspection processes
Contribute to lean initiatives, cost-reduction efforts, and cross-functional support

Skills & Experience
HNC/HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent)
Extensive experience in manual inspection methods and tools
Strong understanding of complex engineering drawings and geometric tolerances
Proven experience with First Article Inspection measurements and documentation
Familiarity with CMM operations (Zeiss Calypso/PC-DMIS) - desirable
Aerospace industry experience preferred
Skilled in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments
Experience with PPAP, APQP, and Six Sigma (Green Belt desirable)

Additional Information
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential for extension
Applicants must be capable of working independently and managing day-to-day inspection priorities
