Job Opportunity: Civil Engineer (Building Design) Temporary Contract

Are you a skilled Civil Engineer looking for a flexible and rewarding opportunity? We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Infrastructure team, supporting a variety of exciting design and construction projects across the UK.

Position Details:

  • Location: Flexible work from any of our offices in Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff, or Birmingham
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Initial Contract Duration: 6 months (with potential extension based on workload)
  • Hours: 37.5 per week
  • Working Arrangement: Hybrid (minimum 3 days in-office)
  • Rate: Negotiable based on experience and skills
  • Expenses: Covered for travel to/from project sites
  • Notice Period: 1 week (contractor), 4 weeks (employer)
  • Security Vetting Level: B

About the Role:

You ll be part of a national Building Design Practice, contributing to the delivery of small to medium infrastructure projects. This is a non-location-specific role offering remote work flexibility or access to any of our UK offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technically focused civil engineering designs
  • Produce designs in line with relevant standards and codes
  • Ensure high-quality engineering services
  • Manage your time effectively
  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
  • Adhere to BIM standards and project execution plans

Requirements:

  • Honours Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) or HND/equivalent experience
  • Working towards ICE chartership
  • Experience in drainage, utilities, pavement design, earthworks, and construction logistics
  • Familiarity with UK design standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civils 3D (Revit/BIM 360 desirable)
  • Strong communication and report writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Willingness to embrace digital engineering and automation
  • Driving licence and SC clearance (desirable)

Security Clearance:
