Client Summary:
A busy and expanding Rail Engineering firm based within Derby, with smash repair and overhaul projects across the UK. Rapidly growing business looking for additional Fabricator Welders to support a number of contracts
Position Summary:
Undertaking the role of a Fabricator Welder - working solo and in small teams to fabricate and weld components and wider repairs as part of overhaul and smash repair projects.
This includes:
Working from Engineering drawings to fabricate components in the Workshop
Welding - All positions (Vertical up / Overhead) - MIG and TIG
Working with both Aluminium and Mild Steel
Use of fabrication hand and power tools - including use of Oxy-Acetylene to heat
material for manipulation
Working from a WPS
Basic stripping / fitting when required to access areas requiring fabrication / weld repairs
Site Work - working in various locations and Depots around the UK
Requirements:
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Ability to Weld in both MIG and TIG in All Positions
Ability and willingness to work onsite and away from home
Flexible and happy to travel for site work when required
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Relevant certifications in welding and fabrication are beneficial
Prior experience in the rail industry is an advantage but not required
Full UK Driving Licence
Process:
A weld test is required to be considered for the role. This consists of;
MIG on Mild Steel - Butt Weld and Fillet Weld - Both 2mm and 6mm (Vertical Up and Overhead)
