RM Recruit are proud to be working with an empowering not-for-profit organisation based in Birmingham, who are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join their team on a part-time, 12-month contract basis. This role involves working 28 hours per week and there is scope for the position to become permanent. This role will be based initially onsite 4 days per week with a view for homeworking up to 1 day per week once you've settled into the position.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing monthly sales invoices
- Banking cash & cheques received
- Processing monthly purchase invoices
- Support month-end and year-end financial processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Provide administrative support to the finance team, including data entry and document management
- Liaise with suppliers, service providers, and internal teams regarding payments and queries
- Ensure timely and accurate input of financial data into accounting systems (e.g. Sage, QuickBooks, or similar)
Person Specification
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting support role
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial software packages
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive approach and the ability to manage competing priorities
- AAT qualification or similar (desirable but not essential)
The successful candidate will be subject to a DBS check upon appointment.
