Job Description

Straight-Line Civils are currently hiring an offline CAD/CAM programmer in Wolverhampton.

This company is a well-established engineering firm. They are the leading provider of precision engineering services, including multi-axis CNC machining, turning, press tooling, light fabrication and EDM.

Main Purpose and Scope of the Job:

  • Program 3 axis to 5 axis milling machines
  • Control program infrastructure adhering to AS9100D accreditation
  • Support continuous improvement and reduction of waste
  • Assist manufacturing engineers when planning work to deliver best method of manufacture
  • Assist machining technicians, manufacturing engineers, and production team
  • Design and introduce versatile fixturing elements

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience of CNC machining in a precision engineering environment
  • High level of CNC programming competency in Fanuc Heidenhain languages.
  • Must have Programming experience in both turning and milling capabilities, ideally up to 5 axis (3+2) with strong knowledge of setting, operating, and programming.
  • Experienced in 3D modelling, preferably with Solidworks and Visi.
  • Offline programming, familiarity with VISI CAM package highly desired.
  • Must have knowledge of tooling and fixtures in addition to lean manufacturing principles, to aid process improvements and efficiencies in machining capabilities.

This is a permanent, office-based position. The hours are 8 am - 5 pm Monday to Thursday and 8 am - 1 pm on a Friday.

Salary - UP TO £45k (negotiable and dependent on previous experience)
