Job Title: Gas Fitter
Location: Preston and Liverpool
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience, plus van and fuel card
Job Type: Temp to Perm Opportunity

An established and forward-thinking social housing maintenance provider, known for its commitment to community regeneration and high-quality tenant services, is seeking an experienced Gas Fitter. This organisation works across the Northwest, delivering essential maintenance and compliance services in occupied domestic properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform isolation, pre-emptying, and recommissioning of gas systems in residential homes.
  • Install, service, and repair a range of domestic gas appliances to Gas Safe standards.
  • Carry out diagnostics, fault finding, and safety checks.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal procedures.
  • Accurately complete job sheets, risk assessments, and certification.
  • Maintain excellent communication with tenants, supervisors, and planners.
  • Prioritise safety in all work, particularly within occupied homes and vulnerable tenant environments.

Requirements

  • Valid ACS/Gas Safe certifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, etc.)
  • Proven experience in domestic or social housing environments
  • Strong working knowledge of gas safety, including pre-commissioning practices
  • Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
