An established, global technology solutions provider is looking for an experienced Audio Visual Design Engineer to join their EMEA division. The Design Engineer is a key member of the project team, providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle from initial concept and strategy through design, construction documentation, installation support, and final handover.
Key Responsibilities
Work directly with clients and Project Managers to define budgets, timelines, and manage expectations
Conceptualise AV system designs and determine technical requirements
Provide technical input to support architectural planning, installation, and integration
Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting documentation
Create detailed PDF markups for CAD teams to translate into construction drawings
Produce functional system descriptions, block wiring diagrams, rack elevations, and custom cabling assemblies
Research, identify, and recommend appropriate technology solutions
Oversee construction drawing packages and coordinate with architects and other trades
Support installation phases and prepare as-built drawings for handover
Build and maintain strong client relationships, aligning solutions with client standards while recommending new technology where appropriate
Stay up to date with industry trends through training, trade shows, and manufacturer sessions
Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience in AV systems design
Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office 365
AVIXA CTS certification (CTS-D desirable)
Certified or trained in at least one DSP platform (e.g., Biamp, QSC, ClearOne)
Certified or trained in at least one control system (e.g., Crestron, Extron, AMX)
Solid understanding of project phases: Program, Conceptualisation, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction, Commissioning
Good knowledge of construction processes, installation, and architectural drawings/specifications
Detail-oriented, independent, and proactive
Excellent time management and communication skills
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
