We re working with a leading commercial explosives company to recruit a skilled and safety-conscious
Explosives Technician to support field operations and engineering services across a range of blast environments.
This is a hands-on, technical role involving the setup, maintenance, calibration, and use of specialist blasting equipment, as well as data collection and site support. The successful candidate will be involved in everything from vibration monitoring to drone surveys and fragmentation analysis, playing a vital role in the delivery of precision blast services to clients across the UK.
Key Responsibilities for the Explosives Technician - Prepare and calibrate blasting and monitoring equipment (e.g., seismographs, VOD, drones).
- Assist with data capture and analysis for blast performance and fragmentation.
- Support the engineering team with onsite measurements, drone surveys, and diagnostics.
- Perform maintenance and technical checks on explosives-related tools and systems.
- Work closely with senior engineers on project support, site prep, and technical reporting.
- Uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance on all sites.
Requirements for the Explosives Technician - Previous experience in explosives, blasting, quarrying, or mining operations.
- Working knowledge of equipment like vibration monitors, VOD systems, and photogrammetry tools.
- Strong IT literacy, including Excel and data analysis tools.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to various customer sites.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to health & safety standards.
Desirable - Shotfiring or Explosives Supervisor certification (or working towards it).
- Drone licence (CAA approved) and experience with site survey tools.
- Experience with blast design software or analytical modelling.
