Ramon.Space is seeking a highly skilled R&D Leader to join our innovative team.

This role involves leading a multidisciplinary team to develop advanced digital satellite communication systems.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams, especially in developing embedded systems for space applications, with a strong background in telecom, particularly digital telecom payloads for satellites.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary R&D team in developing digital telecom payloads and embedded systems for satellite applications.
  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from inception to production, ensuring project timelines and milestones are met.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies, processes, and best practices to improve efficiency, quality, and performance.
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments for seamless project integration and delivery.
  • Foster innovation and continuous improvement within engineering teams, promoting new technologies and methodologies.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage project resources and risks to deliver projects on time and within specifications.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Mentor and develop engineering team members, providing guidance and career development opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, customers, and partners to align project goals and updates.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in developing embedded systems for space applications.
  • Knowledge in developing cellular networks.
  • Experience leading system architecture stages of projects.
  • Experience designing and implementing embedded telecom systems.
  • Strong understanding of digital communication principles and satellite protocols.
  • Proven troubleshooting and debugging skills for complex embedded systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience managing R&D resources and risks for timely, compliant project delivery.
  • Familiarity with space industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ESA lead projects.
  • Knowledge of embedded hardware architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.
  • Experience with radiation-hardened components for space.
  • Understanding electronics, firmware, and software interactions for system design.
  • Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Experience in satellite communication or space-related software development.
  • Knowledge of software architecture, RTOS, SDRs, FPGA programming.
  • Experience with system engineering and Xilinx tools.
  • Knowledge of antenna systems, RF design, modulation techniques, 5G, DVB-S2X, CCSDS, DPDK, VPP.
