The South London Mental Health and Community Partnership (SLP) is a collaboration between Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust, between them delivering mental health services to a population of more than three million people. The partnership brings together clinical expertise, experience and innovation, aiming to improve quality, use resources most effectively, and deliver best practice consistently to all patients. Since its inception, the SLP has been a resilient and effective partnership that has improved patient experience, introduced innovation and developed new services across the 12 boroughs of south London. Clinical Utilisation Review (CUR): The SLP was approached by NHS England in 2019 to undertake a pilot of Clinical Utilisation Review Tool in Mental Health. It is a tool that enables clinicians to make objective and evidence-based assessments of whether patients are receiving the right levels of care, in the right setting, at the right time. A one-year pilot commenced in December 2020 across 12 SLP CAMHS sites - inpatient units and crisis teams. From 1st December 2021, CUR will be extended for one year. The CAMHS Programme: The SLP Trusts - Oxleas, SWLStG and SLaM have been working in partnership to deliver CAMHS since 2017. Initially this was as an NHSE New Care Model and in 2020 they were successful in their application to become a CAMHS Provider Collaborative. During this time the Trusts have collaborated on a range of initiatives which have included: Expanding the Adolescent Outreach Team in SWLStG Establishing a single Bed Management team for all CAMHS inpatient services Setting up new and enhancing existing Crisis Care Teams in all three Trusts Establishing a new DBT services in Oxleas and SWLStG to achieve parity across the piece Developing the Eating Disorders Pathways across South London The ambition of the Programme is for all children and young people in south London to have consistent, equal access to the very best mental health services. Admission to hospital should only be approved when clinically necessary, and we strive to provide responsive, flexible and appropriate community support and interventions to avoid A&E attendance and admissions. Mental health services should be joined-up, logical and accessible to patients and their families/carers at all stages. We will work to prevent escalation, help in crises, and intervene early wherever possible. Role summary The post holder's main responsibility will be to support the CUR Project Clinician in the delivery of the CUR pilot across the 12 pilot sites. The post holder will contribute to the pilot evaluation and therefore will need to have the ability to: work both independently and as part of a team; confidently provide training to multi-disciplinary teams; and compile and present information and reports. The South London Mental Health and Community Partnership (SLP) is a collaboration between Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust, between them delivering mental health services to a population of more than three million people. Clinical Utilisation Review (CUR): The SLP was approached by NHS England in 2019 to undertake a pilot of Clinical Utilisation Review Tool in Mental Health. It is a tool that enables clinicians to make objective and evidence-based assessments of whether patients are receiving the right levels of care, in the right setting, at the right time. A one-year pilot commenced in December 2020 across 12 SLP CAMHS sites - inpatient units and crisis teams. From 1st December 2021, CUR will be extended for one year. The CAMHS Programme: The SLP Trusts - Oxleas, SWLStG and SLaM have been working in partnership to deliver CAMHS since 2017. Initially this was as an NHSE New Care Model and in 2020 they were successful in their application to become a CAMHS Provider Collaborative. During this time the Trusts have collaborated on a range of initiatives which have included: Expanding the Adolescent Outreach Team in SWLStG Establishing a single Bed Management team for all CAMHS inpatient services Setting up new and enhancing existing Crisis Care Teams in all three Trusts Establishing a new DBT services in Oxleas and SWLStG to achieve parity across the piece Developing the Eating Disorders Pathways across South London The ambition of the Programme is for all children and young people in south London to have consistent, equal access to the very best mental health services. Admission to hospital should only be approved when clinically necessary, and we strive to provide responsive, flexible and appropriate community support and interventions to avoid A&E attendance and admissions. Mental health services should be joined-up, logical and accessible to patients and their families/carers at all stages. We will work to prevent escalation, help in crises, and intervene early wherever possible. Role summary The post holder's main responsibility will be to support the CUR Project Clinician in the delivery of the CUR pilot across the 12 pilot sites. The post holder will contribute to the pilot evaluation and therefore will need to have the ability to: work both independently and as part of a team; confidently provide training to multi-disciplinary teams; and compile and present information and reports. The post holder will also work with the core CUR team which consists of a CUR Project Clinician, Project Manager, a Data Analyst, with Admin support. Experience in CAMHS would be beneficial but not essential to the role. The CUR project collaborates with a number of stakeholders within SLP trusts and therefore as one of the first points of contact you will play an important role in ensuring a good stakeholder experience and positive image of the CUR pilot project and SLP.
