The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Design Draughtsperson to join a well-established design team, collaborating closely with the production teams to proficiently develop and deliver CAD drawing packages for various bespoke steel doors and curtain walling systems. Your role will include transforming client briefs and architectural concepts into precise, manufacturable design packages using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Inventor. Additionally, your role will play a crucial part in delivering bespoke architectural solutions-ensuring that each steel door and curtain walling design is technically robust, compliant, and aligned with both functional and aesthetic client requirements.

What We're Looking For

Experience:

• A minimum of one year's experience utilising AutoCAD is required
• Proven experience of successfully delivering CAD drawings for bespoke steel doors and curtain walling solutions

• Experience in metalwork, fabrication, or curtain walling is advantageous; however, comprehensive training will be provided to ensure proficiency in these areas

Key Skills:

• Effective time management abilities
• Clear communication abilities combined with a keen eye for detail
• Proficient utilisation in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Solid understanding of industry regulations, standards, and best practices
• Strong time-management skills with the capacity to effectively prioritise tasks
• Excellent attention to detail, ensuring precision and uniformity in all documentation and designs
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, facilitating effective collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders
• Advanced proficiency in utilising CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or Inventor is fundamental for creating detailed 2D and 3D models

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in scheduled project meetings held on Microsoft Teams as required
• Create comprehensive drawing packages that fully align with contract specifications and requirements
• Evaluate client specifications and technical criteria to develop feasible, manufacturable design solutions
• Oversee project milestones and proactively adjust workflows or priorities to ensure deadlines are met and delays are minimised
• Facilitate seamless coordination among production, project, and delivery teams to consistently achieve project milestones and adhere to established timelines
• Develop precise 2D and 3D technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints utilizing advanced CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks
• Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure the timely procurement of materials and strict adherence to design specifications, maintaining project schedules and quality standards
• Implement version control protocols and maintain a systematically organized archive of drawings and associated documentation to ensure traceability, consistency, and efficient retrieval
• Perform comprehensive quality inspections to ensure all drawings meet accuracy and precision standards, adhering to client specifications and industry norms
• Interpret client sketches, specifications, and requirements to develop precise and comprehensive design solutions
• Develop conceptual designs and detailed engineering solutions in collaboration with engineers and project managers
• Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely procurement of materials and adherence to design specifications
• Identify and resolve design discrepancies or issues that arise during the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with project objectives and maintaining quality standards
• Provide expert technical support during the manufacturing and construction phases, addressing design-related queries promptly to ensure seamless project progression and adherence to specifications
