Fabricator/Welder (Plater)

Location: Beith, KA15 1LY
Salary: From £15.00 per hour (DOE)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

We re looking for an experienced Fabricator Welder Plater to join our team!

The Opportunity

If you're confident reading engineering drawings, fabricating components to tight tolerances, and welding to high standards, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical engineering drawings
• Fabricate and assemble structural steel and metal components
• Perform MIG welding (TIG and Stick advantageous)
• Use tools including grinders, plasma cutters, and burning torches
• Plate work: marking out, rolling, bending, and fitting
• Carry out dimensional checks for accuracy
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment
• Follow all site health & safety policies and procedures

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• 4+ years' experience in fabrication/welding
• Skilled in MIG welding
• Confident reading engineering drawings
• Comfortable working with mild steel (experience with stainless/aluminium a bonus)
• Experience using fabrication workshop machinery (press brake, guillotine, rollers, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset

Desirable:

• TIG or Stick welding experience
• Forklift licence (B1)
• CSCS or equivalent site certification
• Driving licence (for site work flexibility)
