Class 1 Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 2 Truck Driver to join our client based in Stoke on Trent . The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle flatbed deliveries. As a key member of our team, you will ensure that all deliveries are made on time while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.

Duties

• Operate and drive lorries in a safe and responsible manner.
• Transport goods to designated locations, ensuring timely delivery.
• Load and unload cargo, including flatbed loads, while adhering to safety protocols.
• Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle before and after trips to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage and fuel usage.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transport.
• Follow all relevant traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of yourself and others on the road.

Skills

• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
• Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for flatbed operations.
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for driving.
• Excellent navigational skills with the ability to read maps and use GPS systems effectively.
• Ability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently during loading and unloading processes.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with team members and clients.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving with a keen attention to detail.
