Senior / Principal Architect Life Sciences
Location: London (Office/Site based)
Salary: £42,000 to £55,000 (depending on experience) + car allowance

The Opportunity:
DATS Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading consultancy to find an experienced Senior or Principal Architect for a key role supporting the design and delivery of complex life sciences facilities.

This is an exciting opportunity for an architect who thrives on technical challenges and has a strong background in delivering high-quality, regulated projects such as laboratories and GMP manufacturing spaces. You ll be joining a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to shaping spaces that prioritise user safety, wellbeing, and future flexibility.

Senior Architect - The Role:
As Senior Architect, you will play a central role in the development and delivery of projects from concept through to detailed design. You will be involved in:

  • Leading the design and coordination of life science facilities, including laboratories and cleanrooms.
  • Working closely with clients to understand process flows and specific operational requirements.
  • Creating innovative and practical design solutions that respond to highly technical briefs.
  • Overseeing project resources, timescales, quality standards and commercial performance.
  • Preparing design documentation including technical drawings, specifications, tender packages, and change control documentation.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and wider project stakeholders to ensure alignment across all stages of delivery.

About You:
We re looking for a driven and experienced architect with a passion for technically complex environments and user-focused design. Ideally, you will have:

  • Proven experience in life sciences or other regulated sectors.
  • Strong design and detailing skills, with the ability to manage projects from early stages to completion.
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations and technical standards relevant to laboratory and GMP facilities.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
