Job Description

Introduction:

Our client is a growing manufacturing business investing in new machinery and a modern engineering facility. They re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join their team and support the smooth running of production.

This is a great opportunity for a multi-skilled engineer with experience in both mechanical and electrical maintenance. You'll be working in a fast-paced, BRC-regulated environment where you ll play a key part in maintaining equipment, solving breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement.

The Role:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this is a practical, on-the-tools role ideal for someone who enjoys getting stuck in and being part of a tight-knit team. You ll be responsible for keeping machinery in top condition, logging maintenance activity, and making sure any issues are resolved quickly and safely.

Day-to-day, you ll be:

  • Carrying out breakdown repairs on a variety of equipment, ensuring machinery is running safely and efficiently
  • Completing planned preventative maintenance in line with schedules
  • Logging maintenance tasks accurately through the PPM system
  • Supporting changeovers on production lines and working closely with the production team to minimise downtime
  • Making small improvements to equipment and processes to boost efficiency
  • Working with machinery such as label applicators, glue machines, and tube cutters

What We re Looking For:

  • Time-served apprenticeship or relevant qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC, HNC or equivalent)
  • Strong mechanical skills (machining, turning, milling, welding)
  • Good understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Basic electrical knowledge, with experience of PLCs and control systems
  • Able to read and work from schematic drawings
  • Full UK driving licence
